What counts as a large item?

Large mirrors, oversized artwork, heavy shelving units, large TV brackets — anything over 50 inches or particularly heavy that's currently mounted on your wall.

Is wall patching included?

Yes — we patch all screw holes with Dry-Dex spackle after removal. The spackle goes on pink and turns white when dry.

Do you dispose of the old mounting hardware?

We remove the hardware from the wall and leave it with you. Disposal is up to you — some customers reuse brackets for new installations.

Can you take down and remount in a different spot?

Yes — book dismounting plus large item mounting ($100) and we handle both in one visit. We'll take it down, patch the old holes, and mount it in the new location.

How do you handle plaster or concrete walls when removing large items?

Large items on plaster or concrete walls often use heavy toggle bolts or masonry anchors. Our technicians remove these carefully to minimize damage and always patch with Dry-Dex spackle afterward for a clean finish.

How much does large item dismounting cost?

Large item dismounting is $70 per item. Includes careful removal and patching all holes with Dry-Dex spackle. Book online and set the quantity.

I'm moving out — can you handle everything in one visit?

Yes — book dismounting for each item. For TVs, add TV dismounting ($149). For small items, add small item dismounting ($35 each). We handle everything in one appointment and leave the walls patched and ready for inspection.

Are you insured for heavy item removal?

Yes — NYC TV Guy carries $2M general liability insurance. We're insured for removal of heavy mirrors, artwork, shelving, and wall-mounted cabinets. If your building needs a COI, we provide one on request.
